Since 1988 John and Pat Dickinson have undertaken a visual journey. Through painting and sculpture they have strived to create a meaningful connection to the viewer. John and Pat maintain a two person studio in the Cascade foothills of western Oregon. John has a formal art education thru Oregon State University, Fine Arts Program, BFA 1990, and is the sculptor and painter. Pat works in glass and has taken many technical classes thru Bullseye Glass in Portland Oregon.
John has begun a new body of work which explores encaustic painting. This centuries old technique incorporates hot beeswax and oil pigment into archival panels of texture and color.
Our philosophy is about handmade, the connection of object and viewer. The world is so fast we forget to breathe. Painting and sculpture is to be enjoyed over a lifetime and we hope our art conveys that timelessness.
